Worship Notes
Please give our Children’s Worship Bulletins to the young ones with you. They are available on the small table by the rear entrance, just before you enter the nave. The green one is for children 3 to 6, and the blue one for those 7-12
We are glad to share with you this morning the good news of God’s love made known in Christ Jesus. To participate in the worship, you will want to follow the order of service as indicated in this bulletin. Hymns higher that 569 are found in With One Voice (the blue worship book), and marked with Z. If it would be helpful, a Nursery is available for young children.
If you have been a communing member of another Christian Church, you are invited to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion with us this morning. We believe and teach that in the bread and wine we receive the very Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Come forward (we begin with the first pew on each side) by the side aisle. Take a cup from the tray in front of the pews, and move to a space at the rail when it is available. If you prefer, you may take one of the cups already filled with white grape juice in the center of each tray. Gluten-free wafers are also available; please inform the pastor beforehand. It is our custom to kneel, though you are welcome to stand if kneeling is uncomfortable The bread will be placed in your hand and the wine poured in your cup. An acolyte will gather the empty cups. You may return to your seat by the center aisle.
Be sure to sign the attendance card in your bulletin, and the guest book at the entrance, too, if you have not already done so. If you would wish to learn more about the Christian faith and Lutheran teachings, or might wish to become a member of this congregation, note that on your attendance card or speak to Pastor Whetstone.
Please check the our newsletter, the Monarch, which is located in the tract rack, for other ministries of learning or services that might be of interest or assistance to you.
We believe that our relationship with God is determined not by our wisdom or even our goodness, but by His love for us which is beyond all our deserving. And that He calls us to faith, that we may live a life of peace, forgiveness, joy, service, and blessing.
Whether you have come for one Sunday, or to stay, we are glad for the opportunity to proclaim, contemplate and celebrate this gospel with you on this day.
